you will need...
Sensible, hard wearing shoes are essential as Scotland's Easdale Island has no pavements or roads, only rocky paths.
Provisions are a must! Easdale Island has no shop so you will need to take all food, drinks and medications with you. There are several supermarkets and a pharmacy in Oban (25 minute drive) and a well stocked general store (a 5 minute drive away) at Balvicar on Seil Island. This adds to Easdale's charm, once there, you really feel like you are on retreat, away from the rat race.
you should know... The holiday cottage is and always has been NO SMOKING and sorry but no pets and no exceptions. There are new cottages being built to the rear of ours at present but are almost finished, the finishing touches are being added at the moment, they look great. The friendly local builders are very considerate and sensitive to tourism, your peaceful holiday and their neighbours, noise is being kept to an absolute minimum. |
